26/05/2010 - Its David vs Golliath!
Formula Ford Scholarship front runner and 2009 Ford Fiesta Champion David Ellesey will deputise for the injured Jake Green next weekend at Zandvoort for rounds 7 and 8 of the Championship.
Following on from his race three ending crash at Knockhill, Jake has been sidelined for 6 weeks with a broken thumb.
David will be his subsitute for the trip to Holland and the next two races of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain, following on from his debut at OultonPark, where he scored three scholarship podiums in his first three races.
David tested the car at Brands Hatch last week and said “ My day with Century and Juno on Friday was really great, it was a great opportunity to meet the team and become a little more familiar with the car. I also got chance to have a good chat with Jake and Luke, who race the cars normally, and they were able to offer me a few tips on getting the most out of the car.
Despite the fact that I only has limited running in the car I felt really at home from the moment I left the pits and was able to focus on understanding the car and its characteristics. Having the opportunity to test for 80mins at Zandvoort before qualifying on Friday I’m very much looking forward to a competitive outing.”
The Juno team wish Jake a speedy recovery and look forward to his return and working with David in the future.
